<p>2024 was a year of impressive victories and new records. With Toprak Razgatlıoğlu and the ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team, BMW is finally at the top of the premier class of series-adjacent motorcycle racing. However, there was a bitter setback before we could celebrate victory. Razgatlıoğlu suffered a fall during the free training at Magny-Cours. However, after a brief recovery period, he fought his way back to the top. At the season finale, “El Turco” ultimately showed his true self: World Champion!</p>

<p>Skill, endurance, teamwork, and pure #SpiritofGS: That’s what it took to succeed in this year’s GS Trophy. From the 15th to 20th of September, 22 teams took on the challenge over a total distance of 1,300 km. But not just anywhere. In its 9th edition, the GS Trophy returned to the place where everything began – to Africa. In Namibia, participants faced a challenging mix of unending savannahs, impressive sandy river beds, and rocky trails. Everything you need for the adventure of a lifetime!</p>

<p>Fuel tanks and jerseys, helmets and tools, calligraphy and photography: the workshop – or rather the wonderful and orderly chaos – of Shinya Kimura, one of the most sought-after customizers in the world (and one of the most interesting ones!), is packed with mementos and astonishing items of all kinds. No more than two or three motorcycles leave his holy halls each year. During his modification projects, he focuses on only one bike at a time to be fully invested in the project. The flow and harmony as well as the Wabi-Sabi of Japanese aesthetics play a crucial role in this. The patina and the genuine character of the – mostly – old motorcycles are just as important to him as the essence of the future rider. After all, it’s the rider who completes the project. <p>The heritage of the BMW R 18 tracks back to some of BMW’s oldest motorcycles. To celebrate its launch in the US, we followed two BMW riders from the Hartford, CT chapter of the Buffalo Soldiers and Troopers Motorcycle Club, who honor the heritage of the Army’s 9th and 10th cavalries – America’s first all-black peacetime regiments.</p>

<p>This summer BMW Motorrad hosted the <strong>R 18 INTERNATIONAL SOULFUEL CUSTOMIZING CHAMPIONSHIP</strong>,  a competition between BMW Motorrad dealers to build the most epic, customized R 18. The regional phase in the U.S. had 8 participant dealers and 10 impressive custom builds. The two winning projects from the U.S. will had the opportunity to move on to compete in the <strong>ONLINE INTERNATIONAL SEMI-FINALS.</strong></p> <p>The people have spoken, thousands of votes were processed, and voting is now concluded for the U.S. round of R 18 Customizing Championship 2023. </p> <p>But, before revealing the big winners, we would like once again to congratulate all participants, who brought their vision to life and creatively demonstrated how the R 18 is perfect for customization.</p>

<p>Spectacular journeys across rugged rocks, sand and mud, strenuous trial challenges – riders have given it their all. On 4 September 2022, the ultimate off-road adventure launched in Albania’s pristine dream setting: the 8th Int. GS Trophy. The seven-day challenge is an once-in-a-lifetime experience that demands everything from international participants: courage, skill and perseverance. Tests the 57 participants took required great skill, but above all genuine team spirit – absolutely #SpiritOfGS.</p>

Motorways, race tracks, wet driving or tough off-road use: in Miramas we simulate all conceivable driving scenarios, test 140 BMW motorcycles annually, put them through the toughest conditions and cover around 1.5 million miles on them. We are constantly thinking ahead and developing new solutions, innovations and technologies. <p>Inspired by the never-ending highway, the feeling of freedom and sheer independence, the BMW Motorrad design team came up with a completely new approach to touring motorcycles with their Concept 101: elegant, exclusive, extroverted and pure cruising power.</p> <p>This is a concept bike and not available for sale. </p>

<p>Following an incredible qualifier in California, three finalist are moving on to compete for the International GS Trophy.</p> <p>These outstanding finalists are sales engineer Harrison Kendrick (22) from North Carolina and Californians Chris Johns (34) and Kevin Jones (41).</p> <p>We caught up with finalists following the qualifier. <p>San Jose BMW is an authorized BMW motorcycle dealership near Santa Clara, California with a history built from AMA National Superbike competition and experience modifying BMW motorcycles to suit the priorities of serious riders from long distance tourers to racers.</p> <p>The California Special R 18, or CSR18 for short, was a concept intended to take a stock BMW R 18 and make it visually lighter with a mix of vintage and contemporary while paying tribute to the Golden State. The color scheme is a mix of matte and gloss black with highlights of brass and white. It has an aggressive design while maintaining proper design proportions for increased functionality.
